Full 30-bit Display Pipeline

  • With a full 30-bit display pipeline producing more than one billion colors (10-bit per RGB component). It is ideally suited for applications that benefit from accurate color reproduction and superior visual quality especially from medical, Professional Imaging and CAD/CAM sector.

High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is a video compression standard which offers double the data compression ratio at the same or higher level of video quality and the same bit rate as the AVC technique. High Efficiency Video Coding supports resolutions up to 8192×4320, which includes 8K ultra-high definition.

Whether you are streaming a video, video chatting with a friend, playing a clip via Windows media player, or watching DVD/Blu-ray, you are most probably leveraging AMD’s Unified Video Decoder (UVD) seamlessly. The HD content became popular with the rise of Blu-ray and HD-DVD. It came with huge amounts of data to be compressed, which led to the development of computationally extensive standards such as H.264 and VC1. UVD is a dedicated hardware video decoding block that facilitates the full, bit-accurate decoding of VC-1 .

Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC)

  • Frame Rate Targeting Control is a feature that enables users the ability to set a maximum target frame rate when playing an application in full screen exclusive mode. The benefits that this may allow a user to experience are reduced GPU power consumption (great for games running at frame rates much higher than the display refresh rate) and reduce heat generation and as a result of that, lower fan speed/noise on the graphics card.

        Supports EDID management with the display driver installation. EDID reports monitors’ capabilities, including its available resolutions, refresh rates, and display timings. When there is a missing EDID or bad signal communication due to a disconnected display, the feature saves the monitor’s EDID, keeping your configuration intact. You can alternatively force an EDID on a graphics card output, with benefits in a wide variety of usage scenarios with multi-displays installation.

        Stretches display resolutions to prevent bezel interference and image distortion when displaying a single large image across multiple display.

        Transmission based on Gauge of Wire : 0 to 15M over HDMI cable requirement :  

        - HDMI (24AwG) high speed cable can transmit the maximum distance up to 30m and support the resolution 720P, 1080I or 1080P;

        - HDMI (28AwG) high speed cable can transmit the maximum distance up to 15m and support the resolution 720P, 1080I or 1080P;

        - HDMI (30AwG) cable can transmit the maximum distance up to 10m and support the resolution 720P, 1080I or 1080P

        DVI/HDMI  Cable length - In general, cable lengths up to 15 feet (4.6 m) will work for display resolutions up to 1920 × 1200

        For greater distances, the use of a DVI/HDMI booster – a signal repeater which may use an external power supply – is recommended to help mitigate signal degradation.
